Vilano Beach is the barrier-island community immediately north of downtown St. Augustine across the Vilano Bridge. It's a quieter, less commercialized alternative to St. Augustine Beach — wider sand, fewer crowds — while being a five-minute drive from the historic district. That combination of a real beach base plus immediate downtown access is Vilano's defining rental advantage. The Vilano market has fewer condo buildings than the St. Augustine Beach side, which means less direct competition per listing.
