Crescent Beach is the quieter southern stretch of Anastasia Island, about eight miles south of St. Augustine Beach proper. Less traffic, wider sand, fewer crowds. Within fifteen minutes by car you reach the St. Augustine Beach pier, Anastasia State Park, and Fort Matanzas National Monument. The historic district — Castillo de San Marcos, St. George Street, the Lightner Museum — is about ten miles north.
