The House

Sea Matanzas #9 is a third-floor walk-up with 1,100 square feet of space and 180-degree views from the common areas, where a full wall of glass doors brings the ocean into the living space. The open concept living, dining, and kitchen layout has volume ceilings that keep the main room feeling bright and connected, whether someone is cooking, watching the big game, or planning the next beach walk. Tile floors and comfortable coastal seating give the space a relaxed feel, and the glass doors open straight onto the expansive deck, where morning coffee naturally ends up outside with sunrise over the water and the sound of the surf below.

The kitchen is well equipped for vacation meals, with a coffee maker, cookware, dishes and utensils, dishwasher, microwave, oven, refrigerator, stove, and toaster. That makes it easy to eat in, pack beach snacks, or cook dinner at the condo while the sky turns pink and blue over Summer Haven.

When it is time to rest, Bedroom 1 has a king bed and Bedroom 2 has two full bed. For added flexibility, a sleeping nook off the TV room adds a full bed and a twin bed. The unit also includes 2 full bathrooms, an in-unit washer and dryer, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, central heat, linens, towels, a television with cable, and parking. Pets are welcome for an additional pet fee.

St. Augustine

Summer Haven sits about 10 minutes south of the St. Augustine historic district, which makes the condo an easy base for the Ancient City. You can spend the morning on the sand, then head north for the history, restaurants, and shopping that draw people to the nation's oldest city. State parks, museums, and the marina are all within reach, and there is enough to fill a long stay whether you came for the beach, the history, or both.

The Area

Summer Haven is one of the quieter stretches of shoreline in the area, just north of Matanzas Inlet. The beach here has limited public access, which helps it feel calmer than the busier stretches farther north, and it is a good place for shell hunting, fishing, swimming, surfing, or simply watching the water. The shoreline changes with the tide: the water pulls back from the inlet to create tide pools to explore, then returns as the waves meet the limestone and coquina formations known locally as "The Rocks."

Sea Matanzas #9 is part of the Sea Matanzas complex, which shares a community pool and direct access to the beach. One of the best nearby outings is Fort Matanzas National Monument, a Spanish colonial coquina fort that guarded the southern approach to the city and pairs naturally with a beach day.
