This week in church, our pastor mentioned ordering food delivery online, and how that could be a very dangerous thing. Of course, I’m familiar with these apps, because I have also used them for a late night dessert!

All the usual suspects are here in St. Augustine – Grubhub, Postmates, UberEats, and DoorDash.

And well… I’ve used them all. There are pluses and minuses for each, like any other service, and it’s in your best interest to take a look at each one. They are all national brands with a strong web presence, easy to see who offers what. For me though, I found the best food delivery through DoorDash.

They have always been very prompt, adhering to the times I have chosen. They have good communication, with an in-app messaging system, where the driver can let me know status as it happens. The app also takes great care to connect you to the closest places to you, and gives warnings for distances.

There’s also a pretty fair selection of restaurants in the app and on their website. If you don’t see something you do like, reach out to the restaurant directly, and see what options they offer. They may even recommend a local food delivery option.

St. Augustine is a small city in the grand scheme of things, however, we have all the big city conveniences. Our ‘dining scene‘ is fantastic, and if you’re not careful with these food delivery apps, you’ll be hitting the ‘dangerous’ zone too!
